Each student has an assigned device in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Students have access to the tools and resources they need for differentiated learning while still getting the same excellent core instruction from the teacher. If students have any issues with their device, their teacher or out librarian, Mrs. Dockerty, can help. If repair is required, the device will be swapped for a same model device so that the quality of device is maintained in support of student learning.
Kindergarten: Each student has an iPad for in-school use. Devices charge in the classroom.
1st - 4th Grade: TechForEd Chromebooks - Jeffco supplies a Lenovo 300e Chromebook with a case for each 1st - 4th grade student. Each device is checked out to a student and that student is responsible for the device through 4th Grade. Each classroom has a charging cart for overnight storage and charging. Unless needed for summer school or other learning opportunities over summer break, students will turn in their device for storage and the same device will be delivered to the student's class the following year.
5th Grade: TechForEd Chromebooks - Jeffco supplies a Lenovo 300e Chromebook with case or each 5th grade student. It is assigned to them and they are responsible for the Chromebook through 8th Grade. Students are responsible for charging their Chromebook each night at home and should bring their Chromebooks to school every school day. Students will take the device with them when they move to a Jeffco middle school so Chromebooks will NOT be turned in to West Woods Elementary at the end of the school year unless they will be going to a non-Jeffco or charter middle school.
