How to put a book on HOLD
Checkout
Students check out books weekly with their class and may come to the library anytime, with their teacher's permission, to return or check out new books. Books are checked out for three weeks. No fines are collected at West Woods for late books, but students may not continue to check out books until they return overdue library books. We ask that any lost or damaged books be paid for by the borrower.

Birthday Books
Students may donate any elementary school appropriate book to the library in honor of their birthday. New Hardback books are preferred, but lightly used hardback books or paperback books will be accepted too. If you are not sure if your choice is appropriate, just ask Mrs. D! If a student has a summer birthday, the donation can be made at any time. Books can also be donated to celebrate other occasions, such as Teacher/Staff Appreciation, to honor someone you know, or to celebrate other special events.
We place a sticker in the book acknowledging the donation and the student can be the first person to check out the donated book once it is entered into out library system. A picture of the student with their donated book will be displayed in the library. This is a wonderful way to share special occasions in your childs life with all the students at West Woods. Please feel free to stop in the LMC and ask any questions about this program.
