MAP (Reading and Math) - an adaptive assessment that provides information for all students regardless if they are currently below, at, or above grade level.  MAP is real time data that is aligned to the Colorado Academic Standards. Teachers are looking for performance over time. Scores may decline from one test to the next. One low test score is not cause for immediate concern.

Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) is given to all 2nd graders in Jeffco. This assessment measures a student's cognitive development, the ability to learn new tasks, and problem solving abilities. The CogAT is made of three sections called batteries: the Verbal Battery, the Quantitative Battery (mathematics), and the Nonverbal Battery (using shapes and figures to solve problems). Each battery is designed to assess specific reasoning skills in each area that correlate strongly to academic success. In accordance with  Colorado State HB 1077 Exceptional Children's Educational Act (ECEA), Jeffco Schools also uses CogAT data to help identify students for the Jeffco Gifted and Talented program.
