Unified Improvement Plan (UIP)


Major Improvement Strategy- West Woods staff will align structures, instructional best practices, and resources in reading. 

Action Steps: 
1. Instructional staff will participate in a book study to build our knowledge of changing the student task to include inquiry, integrated technology, and authentic learning.
2. Instructional staff will review and research components of the reading block then agree on systemic key components.
4. Develop and implement an MTSS and RtI process and flowchart for the instructional staff to use when analyzing student data, progress, and next steps in determining targeted interventions.

Academic Achievement and Growth Targets - 
All students will demonstrate growth in Reading including students on READ plans.

Student growth in reading will be measured with the following goals and assessments.
Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades will use the Dibels beginning of the year measure to the Dibels end of year measure. Students scoring at or above grade level in grades K-2 will increase from 82%-88%.

3rd, 4th and 5th grades will use the MAP Reading assessment measuring growth from Fall to Spring. Students scoring avg, avg-high, and high will increase for the following grades:
3rd grade: 80%-85% 
4th grade: 88%-94%
5th grade: 89%-93%
