Art
About the Art Studio/Schedule
Students in grades 1st-5th have Art as one of their three specials for 45 minutes at a time. We have an AMPS rotation that gives students their special two days in a row, then on to another special. In the art studio classroom we will use a variety of materials to make art. We will get messy so paint shirts are encouraged.as is cleaning up after ourselves. Each student has a table job to keep us organized. Art supplies are provided. in our classroom.
We use our sketch books to practice drawing and painting and printing, gather ideas, take notes and reflect on our art work. We will be exposed to a variety of media’s and artists and along the way we will learn about the Art Elements and Principles.
Students art work is displayed in the halls and in the Atrium. Students art work will be sent home in a portfolio (a collection of art work) in the month of May.
