Volunteers

Research has shown that parent/guardian participation in a child's education leads to success. At West Woods Elementary it is important to our students that we work together as partners to share responsibility for their learning and growth. One way to get involved in your child's education is to volunteer.

There are a multitude of volunteer opportunities at West Woods Elementary:

  • Assisting students and teachers during daily classroom time (reading groups, math work, etc.)
  • Support a small group of students during enrichment time
  • Provide assistance for individual students throughout the day
  • Clerical work for the teacher (preparing for projects, organizing Friday folders, etc.)
  • Be a guest speaker (occupation, hobbies, special interest)
  • Attend field trips
  • Work with students needing extra time or help during Pack Support
  • Plan special days or classroom parties (sign-up through PTSA Website)

At this time we will continue to run Friday Folder sign up through the classroom teacher.

We are in need of parents to support our students after school from 3:00-4:00 PM in Pack Support (our homework help sessions) on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the library/media center.
